Nomination Call – Currency Hall of Fame Awards
PRESS RELEASE
June 22, 2011
The Board of Directors of the International Association of Currency Affairs  (IACA) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Currency Hall of Fame to honour distinguished contributors to the currency industry in their home countries and around the world.  The Hall of Fame will provide a permanent public record and memorial of the achievements of its members, available to all those who are interested in currency, through the IACA web site.
New candidates will be inducted into the Currency Hall of Fame every 18 months, in conjunction with the Currency Conference, with the first inductees to be honored this year in Singapore.
Anyone can nominate a candidate for consideration by IACA’s Board for the Hall of Fame. Candidates should be persons who have made significant contributions to the industry. IACA will evaluate deceased candidates, as well as living candidates who have retired from their primary career in the industry, and who have reached the age of 60. We welcome nominees from central banks, industry suppliers, commercial organizations, and financial institutions. Candidates, however, need not be in or from the currency industry, only to have made substantial and lasting contributions to it; a significant industry event or a group may also be nominated for induction to the Hall of Fame. We expect that inductees, or delegates representing them, will participate in the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Nominating sponsors will be required to submit a written proposal as well as a copy of the candidate’s curriculum vitae or a biographical statement. Nominations for the current cycle will be due no later than July 31, 2011. For additional detail on the requirements for the Hall of Fame, please contact Eugenie Foster.
