Currency Research – More than Just ICCOS
Currency Research is a long-standing supporter of and effective lobbyist for the currency industry. Often unseen by those of us in the trenches, Currency Research works with all participants in the industry to expand knowledge, challenge the status quo and build networks amongst peers where no other organization is so uniquely qualified to do so. Their simple Mission Statement says it best:
To educate and promote efficiencies across the cash cycle—from currency design, production, issuance, distribution, circulation, management and ultimately destruction– and to harmonize, in a secure manner, the knowledge base of all stakeholders via best practice.
With their usual flair, the enthusiastic staff of Currency Research has just completed two back-to-back ICCOS events. ICCOS Asia was held in Manila and was host to many regional delegates and international vendor-sponsors. Mr. Tan Chee Meng, Managing Director of Asia, said it was “a potent combination of Filipino hospitality, good presentations and great sponsor offeringsâ€. As one CMC delegate said, ICCOS Asia was “excellent for building networks and (to) gain insight and understand changes in the industryâ€. ICCOS EMEA was held three weeks later in Warsaw and was equally as informative and valuable an event as it’s other regional siblings. Mr. Gonzalo Santamaria, MD for Europe commented “The positive feedback reconfirms that we currently host the premier commercial cash seminar in the region and we are committed to maintaining this high standard while expanding to adjacent markets”. One banker delegate said: “ICCOS has added new dimensions to my view on cashâ€.
Currency Research has built on the success of the original ICCOS conferences by expanding with regionally relevant events. In the unique world of currency management, there are relatively few opportunities for industry participants to network and contribute to the growth of knowledge and evolution of the business.
Central Banks and Commercial Banks have expressed interest in Executive and Management Training. The Coin industry runs in parallel to our work with cash and certainly is a very real part of the currency industry as a whole. As a result Currency Research (CR) is purposely expanding their stable of events. In addition to the long-running ICCOS and The Currency Conference events and the recent addition of The Coin Conference, , CR has added WAIFEM Central Bank Training Seminar, an Executive Training Seminar and a CR Review Seminar where the content of multiple seminars is distilled and presented over a two and a half day agenda.
In closing I offer the words of Marci Chavez, President & CFO Currency Research, followed by a brief summary of upcoming events…
