We did it! 2013 marks the start of our 7th year of publication. Counting On Currency has grown from a simple idea to provide industry insiders with a free and accessible resource for all things related to currency. We started with a simple site hosted on Google Blogger, which evolved to a somewhat more robust website that was independently hosted and ultimately more accessible to our audience. The problem was, both of these iterations had the distinct look and feel of a hobby website and not that of a professional web service. Although we don’t sell anything on the site, it was determined that we needed a more professional image and presentation. With the assistance of a gifted web designer and his team (Sevn Creative Group) we embarked on an ambitious project to completely redesign Counting On Currency from the ground up. The result is what you are now viewing and we couldn’t be more proud of the results.

What’s New?

1. Just about everything – new look and feel; consistent presentation; enhanced navigation; much more Search Engine friendly (Google will like us even more!)
2. Cash Per Diem – Dan’s daily updates are now posted in a blog format, which means all of the links will be retained indefinitely
3. Industry Press – this is undoubtably our best achievement – with the assistance of some very talented web developers (Sevn Creative Group again) we have designed a page that will dynamically update with the most recent Press Announcements from every currency related website we know of – this is definitely a work in progress – if you don’t see your company’s or organization’s press releases here, please let us know (your PR will need to be served via RSS feed for us to integrate it to this page)
4.  News Vault – a redesigned page where you will find all of our historical posts
5. Twitter integration – although we once questioned the value of Twitter, we now accept that it is the standard in instant communications – we hope to add more relevant feeds in the coming months and to use our own Twitter feed to better effect (you will find it on the sidebar on the right-hand side of every page). You can subscribe to our Twitter feed by clicking on the Twitter icon found in the top right hand corner of every page

8. The Last Word – the site and our email notification service are still somewhat “under construction”, with small tweaks here and there – if you notice anything “odd”, please send us a note to admin@countingoncurrency.com

Relaunching the site has meant a few changes to our global map, which shows where our Visitors come from. The revolving globe we used on the old site would not transfer appropriately to the new site, so we found an alternative. Doing so meant we had to start counting all over again – the lack of dots doesn’t mean we have lost audience – we expect the map will be as covered in Visitor location dots as the old one, in very short order.
