I am at the point of screaming UNCLE! I can not believe the number of friends and associates who, once they discover I have a blog, want to know if I use Twitter. Many of them can’t even begin to describe what Twitter is, beyond something their children use. Equally I can not ignore the overwhelming advice I receive in blog related “help” publications to integrate with Twitter. As for my own feelings – I am still struggling with what Twitter can do for me on a professional level as Facebook is enough for me when it comes to friends and family and LinkedIn does well for my professional network. After all, just because there is a social network service doesn’t mean you have to use it, right?!?
I will admit that I am sometimes slow to embrace new on-line phenomenon – look how long it took me to become a blogger and then to move beyond using a free on-line service. So to fairly judge whether the readers of Counting On Currency would find inclusion of Twitter to be useful, I have employed the services of a blogging plug-in call MicroPoll. When you click through from this News page to the main page of the Counting On Currency site you will see MicroPoll virtual voting station on the right hand side of the screen – just scroll down past the Subscribe and Recent Posts boxes and you will see it.
Please vote – I am keenly interested in your thoughts on tweeting or not tweeting.
