Matt,

You make a great point; in the retail environment, coin handling is an important piece that many have overlooked in the market thus far. While I can't speak for the market, I can tell you that at Unisys we understand the need to bring to market retail solutions that go beyond cash and even coin to include all payment types (i.e. cash, coin, check, coupons, etc.). Our goal will be to offer a branch automation solution (SmartCash) and a retail solution that is robust enough to reduce transportation costs and bank visits by including all of the necessary functionality (SmartCash Vault). Matt, for more information I would recommend speaking with Bob Walters. Bob is a retail expert and will help demonstrate for you how Unisys can help Regions excel in the commercial space! Bob can be reached at (734) 737-3920 or at robert.walters@unisys.com.

Regards,

Terrific article! There are great solutions for the currency on the market today, but we still don't have good choices for coin. We have to solve both or we cannot cut down the transporation. Asia and Europe have better coin devices than the U.S., but no one is bringing them to market here. Is anyone satisfied with their coin handling processes from end to end?
